Now that all our cob webs and spiders (and bats, vultures, skulls, etc…) have been eradicated from the house; I’ve had a chance to upload our photos from Halloween.
The week before Halloween, we hosted our 4th Annual Halloween Costume Party. All the “faces” were new, but we had some old friends and some new friends join in the fun.
Ever since we made it mandatory that the adults dress up, the event has taken on a whole new level of exuberance.
I must say, it’s one of our easiest gatherings of the year, since the guests provide the entertainment. And they NEVER disappoint.
Here is a slide show for your viewing enjoyment (and yes, you will see that there were actually children present).
A week later, in preparation for the actual Halloween, the kids carved their pumpkins. Something you cannot do weeks in advance here due to the rapid decomposition in the warm weather.
And on Halloween night we had one Hockey Player (a very rare sighting here) and three members of the Star Wars cast: Anakin Skywalker, Obi-wan Kenobi, and the dark lord himself, Darth Vader; invade the neighbourhood.
It was a successful night.
These are our moments. Moments of adventure, exploration, silliness, happiness, and most importantly, moments we have chosen to share with our friends and family. A few moments to bring us all a little closer.

Up and Running
We've made a number of enhancements to the blog. We also found a local cafe with free WiFi just around the corner from our apartment...so we're back in business.
Lots of new stuff in Photo and Spain...the girls are posting too.

Blog Trouble
In case you have noticed we've been having some technical difficulties with our blog. Hopefully, we have ironed out most of the wrinkles and things will run much more smoothly now.
Unfortunately we have not figured out how to get Alia's blog back, yet, but are working on it. In the mean time she has decided to blog weekly - I think, at least, until the disappointment of the loss of her hard work has worn off.

Here We GO!!
So, for all of you that have been asking me if I've packed yet...
...the answer is: Yes! (and believe it or not, I did it yesterday!)
I have; the kids have; but Dave has not. As you can see we left him lots of space. Originally we were going to take 3 suitcases, but I think 2 will be enough...unless Dave changes my mind.
I found out today that Dave was able to upgrade his and my ticket to First Class (not the kids) - HA!
I'll let you know on the other side who actually got to use those seats...
Hasta Luego!

Hockey Fever
Am I glad the Hockey Season is FINALLY over?? Yes, but sad to see it go.
For the last 2 months since the Finals began, our house has been a frenzy of Hockey Fanatics from our own mini-finals: Kings (girls) vs Habs (boys) (complete with homemade Stanley Cup);
to Alia's pledge of devotion/obsession to Luongo (Goalie: Vancouver Canucks).
The mini-finals in itself was no small feat due to the limited area available for the "rink" and the very steep grade of our driveway. Many a "puck" (ball) were lost due to gravity and the gutter drain down the road...But, they persevered and went all the way to Game 7! A very exciting and challenging series!!
With their own series concluded, the desire to play did not wane, however the need for a less gravitationally-challenged location was imperative. Two days in a row the girls hiked up to the Big Cul-de-Sac with roller blades slung across their shoulders and hockey gear in tow. Apparently, it is flat enough up there to set up a more even-terrain “hockey rink”.
The first day, the boys went with them, but they bailed the next - too hot. Not to worry though, the girls picked up two nieghbourhood girls along the way and taught them how to play this wacky (sometimes literally) sport called Hockey.
Until next season...
...Go Habs Go!!
